VOLUNTEERS

The Alexandria Commission for the Arts is seeking volunteers with expertise in dance, literature, music, theatre and visual arts to serve on Resource Panels. Resource Panel members assist the Commission by reviewing grant applications for grantees seeking funding for various arts programs.

In addition, the Commission is seeking volunteers to serve on the Alex Awards, Arts Education, Marketing, and the Business and the Arts Committees. Volunteers who serve on Committees assist the Alexandria Commission for the Arts in advancing the organization's goals, objectives and strategies.

Individuals with experience in arts education, business, or who are civic leaders, arts patrons and artists are encouraged to apply. All volunteers will serve three-year terms. Individuals who are interested in serving should send a letter of interest and vita to the Alexandria Commission for the Arts, 1108 Jefferson Street, Alexandria, VA 22314, or apply on line by using the form below. Volunteer appointments are reviewed monthly by the Commission. If appointed, the volunteers are invited to serve for three years. Check the Resource Panel, Committee or task force where you wish to serve.

Resource Panels annually review grant applications from grantees seeking funding for various arts programs. Time Requirements include, but not limited to: review and evaluation of grant requests and participate in the Resource Panel’s interview process with grantees.
